Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School and Clitheroe Royal Grammar School are in the top 200 in the UK for perf-ormance at Key Stage 3 (KS3).
Bacup and Rawtenstall recorded a 297 aggregate score after 99 per cent of pupils achieved the government's benchmark in all three subjects.
Clitheroe Royal Grammar School achieved a 296 aggregate score with 98 per cent of school's KS3 pupils meeting the expected standard in English and 99 per cent in maths and science.
The deputy head at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School, Dr Arthur Robinson said: "KS3 is an important base for GCSE studies but we feel that KS3 is also important for developing well-rounded individuals with our programme of extra-curricular activities."
