SPECIALISED gangs from Manchester or Bradford may have been behind three burglaries last Friday, police said.
In East View, Trawden, thieves forced the back door of the house to steal the keys to a brand new silver Renault Clio diesel car parked outside and drove it away. A computer, monitor, printer, two mobile phones and a handbag were also stolen.
In Regent Avenue on the same night, two more houses were targeted.
One occupant disturbed the would-be thief as he searched the house, while there had been attempts to force open another door on the street.
Police think the thief was trying to find the keys to a Subaru Impreza parked outside.
