A WORKWEAR supplier has pledged to donate its products to the charity which helps women get into work.

The Accrington-based Kwintet will supply charity Smart Works, formerly known as Dress For Success, with suits and shirting.

The clothing business, in Syke Side Drive, is part of the Kwintet Group, Europe’s largest workwear and corporate wear uniform supplier.

It employs around 200 people at its heaquarters and supplies organisations such as Iceland, McDonalds, Eddie Stobart and P&O Cruises. Business development manager, Laura Nelson said: “We strive to create workwear that instils confidence and comfort in workers every day.

“It is just as important to look good and feel good during a job interview so we see great value in donating to this charity.

“Not only does our work with Smart Works extend the life of our products and enhance sustainability, it enables us to give back to the community.

“The organisation is fantastic and we look forward to supporting it as it grows and helps more women find employment.”

Smart Works helps women on low incomes get back to work by dressing them in a complete outfit to wear to their interview and by giving one-to-one interview training.

The charity also offers sessions with trained stylists who help select a smart professional outfit to wear to job interviews.

In addition, the charity provides personal interview training from a senior executive.

Most of the women have been out of work for more than a year And 45% are single parents.

Many women come from refuges and homeless shelters, and some are ex-offenders and also former drug users.

Chief executive Delyth Evans said: “Regular donations of garments that are no longer being used by Kwintet and their clients will help to ensure that we keep a steady stock of smart workwear.”
