ROSSENDALE Schools Town Team has thrown its weight behind Bacup Borough’s bid for Lancashire Co-operative Trophy glory.
Brent Peters’ men face either AFC Fylde or Kendal Town in the cup final at the Reebok Stadium in Bolton on March 11.
Jon Edmondson, manager of the schoolboy team, said: “The spirit at Bacup Borough is often an ‘us against the world’ type of attitude, but I saw some real technical ability and quality attacking football during the semi-final win versus Padiham and we can hopefully support Bacup Borough in the final and help them win another trophy.
“We know it’s a much higher level than our schoolboy representative football, but all of Rossendale should be proud of what is being achieved currently in footballing terms in the Valley.”
He said a win would be a ‘great tonic for sport in the area’.
