LANCASHIRE children and young people will try out top jobs with the county council this November as part of Takeover Month.
It is offering children and young people the chance to shadow managers and councillors to have a say on decisions that affect their lives.
Activities will include:
- Shadowing Rossendale County Councillor Tony Winder, chair of the Corporate Parenting Board;
- Working with Helen Denton, executive director for children and young people; and
- Various shadowing opportunities across the county council's Young People's Service, Youth Offending Team and the Lancashire Young People’s Trust Partnership County.
Young people’s supremo Mark Perks said: “Takeover Day has been running for several years and has proved very successful nationally.
However, we wanted to extend it to a whole month in Lancashire to ensure young people can make the most of the opportunities on offer.”
