Cops stamp on bike crime
POLICE are offering to security mark cycles for free in Lancaster after a spate of thefts.
Bikes have been taken from all areas of the city - with the Castle ward hardest hit with 12 incidents.
Special cycle stamping sessions are to be held by bobbies on the community bus in Market Street next Tuesday, April 1, from 11am to 5pm, and on Saturday, April 5, between 10am and 4pm.
City centre PCSO Lauren Gorton says: "We urge people to bring cycles along, to make the most of this free opportunity to get them security marked and also pick up tips on how to keep their bike safe."
