Not again...
SHATTERED Sammy McIlroy can't believe that his Morecambe marvels failed to take all three points from Easter Monday's game at Darlington - and will get tough over the mistakes that threaten to leave the season drifting to an end.
The Shrimps were 2-0 up with six minutes to play only to be pegged back in a late, late show.
The draw left home boss Dave Penny purring: "That is a great point for us."
But those comments just add to McIlroy's frustration and he tells the Citizen: "When their manager is saying things like that it proves how far we have come and what we are capable of.
"People are saying to me that we would have settled for a point before the game - but that means nothing. It is a fantasic point at Darlington but that doesn't tell half the story.
"We should have won but we were niave again. I'm devastated. I can't believe what has happened. The effort and commitment has been fantastic, but we keep letting leads slip.
"It's been happening all season and I will do something about it."
