THE ancient city of Ephesus is the setting for Comedy of Errors, Shakespeare's popular and successful play, currently being tackled by Pendle Borderline Theatre Company.

"For our production director John Cummings has been inspired by the timeless beauty of Portmeirion, and has set his play there in the Welsh village built in the Italian style by Clough Williams Ellis between 1925 and 1975," said Pendle Borderline press officer Maureen Roberts.

"He boasts an excellent cast blending youth and experience, they have been working hard since last November, and this promises to be a slick and exciting production."

The theme of the play is mistaken identity, manic pursuits and romance combine to make an amusing and entertaining story.

Maureen continued: "John is no stranger to directing or to Shakespeare and if this production is anything like his last production for us, Arsenic and Old Lace, then we are in for a treat."

The play runs from Wednesday, March 7, to Saturday March 10, at Colne Municipal Hall at 7.30pm, the doors open at 6.45pm.
