Coronation Street’s Bethany Platt is set to fall under the dangerous spell of drug dealer and all-round bad boy Callum Logan.

Actress Lucy Fallon, who plays the lovelorn teenager in the ITV soap, admitted she is no match for the manipulative Callum, who is dating her mum Sarah (Tina O’Brien).

After Bethany makes a move on Callum (Sean Ward), she then tries to manipulate him by threatening to tell Sarah about their involvement in a shock drugs raid at The Dog and Gun pub.

But he soon gets the upper hand over her.

Lucy explained that her alter-ego is out of her depth, saying: “Bethany is not as bad as Callum. She’s not a villain, she’s just got wrapped up in his games.

“I don’t think they’re the same at all because she’s not a bad character. She’s just young.”

Asked why Bethany is so impressionable and willing to do anything for Callum, Lucy said: “She wants to help him because she wants him to like her, so Bethany thinks if she helps him to do all these things that he’s asking her to do then maybe there’ll be more of a chance that they’ll actually be together.

“She has no idea what she’s getting herself into because she’s young and naive and not too clever!”

Coronation Street continues on ITV on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
