Naughty Boy has admitted he was left “hurt” by Zayn Malik branding him a “fat joke” on Twitter.
The producer, real name Shahid Khan, worked with the former One Direction star on some solo material after he quit the boyband.
But when a brief snippet of Zayn’s music video for No Type, also featuring Krept and Konan, mysteriously appeared online, the 22-year-old hit out at Naughty Boy online.
In another tweet that seems to refer to him, Zayn said: “Someone learned how to upload a video… maybe now he should learn how to use logic ha you ain’t s*** but a faker.”
Naughty Boy has now told the Sun on Sunday: “I can deal with what he said, but he knows the hate I’ve had to endure for him is the bit that upset me.
“Three months ago he was calling me his best friend at the Asian Awards so it’s a bit sad. Krept called him and explained that I had nothing to do with [the music video leak].”
The 30-year-old DJ added that he felt the “fat” jibe “wasn’t necessary”.
Naughty Boy hinted that new management may have influenced Zayn in turning against him.
He said: “He has got a new manager and sometimes things get interfered with.”
