Jessie J has revealed that she hates being famous.
The 27-year-old singer told the crowd at Henley Festival that she doesn’t think she’s very good at being a celebrity either, according to The Mirror.
The star admitted to the audience: “I don’t like being famous, I’m not very good at it. I like simple things like cooking and bowling. I like helping people.”
Just a few days before, the Do It Like A Dude singer performed at Wireless Festival in Finsbury Park, London, despite her doctors advising her not to perform – and she told festival-goers that she treasured every moment on stage.
The star, who suffers from a heart complaint, had recently undergone two mystery surgeries and asked the audience for their understanding.
“If you see me sitting down, it’s because it’s one of my first gigs since having two operations. I’m still a bit shaky and I’m not my usual jumpy self.”
She confided in the crowd: “Every time I step on the stage I never presume or expect it to last forever. I take in each moment as though they are stars – I know that sounds strange, but it’s true.”
