Bill Murray has made his first appearance at Comic-Con, and it was every bit as wonderful as you’d hope.

The star turned up in full costume from his upcoming movie Rock The Kasbah, which included sunglasses and a scarf tied around his head.

But there was an unexpected topic of conversation on Bill’s lips… Miley Cyrus, who makes a guest appearance on his variety show A Very Murray Christmas due to air on Netflix later this year.

After obliging a fan’s request for an autograph by scrawling “Miley Cyrus” on the man’s forehead, Bill told the crowd: “I’m going to say this officially – Miley Cyrus is good. I was not particularly convinced. Miley Cyrus is really f***in’ good. She can really sing.

“I just thought she was a knucklehead crazy girl, the kind of girl you want to go on a road trip with who didn’t have ID or something, but she can really sing. She floored everybody – Paul Shaffer, George Clooney. So I don’t want to hear any more bad rapping on Miley Cyrus, OK?”

Asked by a fan in Ghostbusters costume what his favourite job had been, the star of the original film replied: “Once upon a time, I did save the city of New York. And I had the coolest damn car to drive around Manhattan.”

Bill also revealed that he had known his Rock The Kasbah co-star Bruce Willis for a while: “We have an ancient history I wasn’t aware of. When I was on Saturday Night Live, Bruce was a page. It’s a job you take where you’re kind of a slave. It’s like an intern-slave. His job was to refill the M&M and peanut bowls in the actors’ dressing rooms.

“Years later, after a few tequilas, he said, ‘Only you and Gilda (Radner) were nice to me’. He’s all right. We had a fun time.”

Meanwhile, Halle Berry, at the event to promote TV series Extant, admitted she would love to return to her X-Men role of Storm at some point.

She said: “In a heartbeat I would do a Storm movie. I love that character through and through. So if that ever became an opportunity for me if it’s before I’m 65 years old, I would absolutely do that.

“I think they should do it. If the fans want that, the fans need to speak up and I’m sure it would be a possibility. If Fox felt like they could make money off of a Storm movie, I’m sure it would be a possibility.”

Other notable moments from Comic-Con so far have included Joss Whedon making a surprise appearance as the panel chair for comedy Another Period, and Teen Wolf confirming that they would be back for a sixth series.
