Kenneth Branagh is reportedly taking on another big screen adaptation – this time he will be remaking Murder On The Orient Express.
Agatha Christie’s classic novel was an Oscar-winning film in 1974, but the Cinderella director is said to be taking on a reboot of the tale, according to The Wrap.
The 20th Century Fox film has already signed up Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg and Mark Gordon as producers, with Blade Runner remake writer Michael Green adapting the script, and now Branagh is said to be in negotiations to join the project.
Christie’s 1934 novel features her famous detective character Poirot, who is investigating the murder of an American tycoon aboard the Orient Express.
In the original adaptation, Albert Finney played Poirot and starred alongside Lauren Bacall, Ingrid Bergman, Jacqueline Bisset, Sean Connery, John Gielgud, Anthony Perkins, Vanessa Redgrave and Michael York.
The film won six Oscar nominations and Ingrid won in her category, supporting actress.
Branagh is known for his adaptation work, which has included Shakespeare and more recently Marvel comics, as well as a live-action version of Cinderella.
