Taron Egerton has said he is in the dark over the sequel for Kingsman: The Secret Service.

The film’s screenwriter Jane Goldman previously revealed she has been discussing some ideas for the follow-up with director Matthew Vaughn, following the film’s box office success.

Taron, who plays spy-in-training Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin, already has some ideas for the second film, saying: “I wish they’d let me know! If it happens and if I’m a part of it, which I’m not taking for granted yet, I would like to see the character arc for Eggsy continue.

“I would like to see him presented with new problems, both global and personal, and see how he overcomes them. The relationship between Merlin (Mark Strong) and Eggsy is one I’d like to see taken further. There’s a bit of banter between them and I think that’s something you could push further.”

The Welsh star is also looking forward to seeing Mark’s character Merlin show off his action skills.

“I’d also like to see Mark Strong jumping around and firing guns in his Kingsman style if this hypothetical sequel happens,” he added.

Taron had to do some training for the film’s physical scenes.

“I had to do loads. It nearly broke me. It was a load of training, but that’s what happens when you play a big part in an action film,” he said.

“You have to go and be an action man, so the training goes hand in hand with it. You can’t do those stunts unless you’re physically fit.”

The 25-year-old actor continued: “It was fun. There are days when you are tired, particularly with an action film, but my lasting memory of it is that it was great fun, working with brilliant people. The action scenes were rewarding in watching them back because they were tremendous hard work.”

Taron also revealed his favourite scene to film in Kingsman: The Secret Service.

“My favourite scene to shoot was the gadget room scene with Colin Firth, when I’m in that hideous costume that Matthew Vaughn put me in because it’s a very clever scene, very witty and fun,” he said.

Kingsman: The Secret Service is out on Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD now from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
