Pixie Lott is to play Holly Golightly – the part made famous by Audrey Hepburn – in a stage version of the classic film Breakfast At Tiffany’s.

The singer will appear in a limited three-month run of the play at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London’s West End next year.

Truman Capote’s novella, about the elusive Holly and her relationship with a poor writer in 1940s’ New York, was made in to a film in 1961.

It won two Oscars, including one for best song for Moon River, but Hepburn lost out on the best actress Oscar to Sophia Loren.

Pixie said: “I am so excited to play Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s in my first West End play. I absolutely love Holly’s style, and free spirit; she has always been an icon to me and I can’t wait to bring my own personality to the role.

“Alongside music, I’ve always wanted to be in a play, and getting the opportunity to be in one of my all time favourites and play this fabulous character is a dream come true.”

The play’s director Nikolai Foster said he was “thrilled” to have the chart star on board.
