The 68th Cannes Film Festival has come to a close, so let’s take a look back at the best and worst outfits the celebs wore in Southern France.

Hits

Marion Cotillard: The French actress shows everyone how it’s done in a bejewelled mini dress at the MacBeth screening.

And again! Marion’s stripped jumpsuit was bang on trend and a breath of fresh air among long frocks.

Jourdan Dunn: The model had all the elements of classic hollywood glamour as she rocked the Little Prince red carpet in this sheer Ralph & Russo gown.

Siena Miller: A bit of a crowd divider but the actress and jury member pulled off this romantic ruffle Gucci gown. We love that she went for an elegant high neck and ethereal style amid all the figure hugging dresses.

Cate Blanchett: The Australian actress did the plunging neckline trend while still having tons of class. The dramatic Armani gown was perfect on her.

And again in this statement gown custom made by Giles Deacon. The hand painted silk was designed to mirror the sea.

April Love Geary: Robin Thicke’s girlfriend did the high-waisted maxi skirt and crop top thing perfectly. The little white tee, minimal jewellery and simple pony tail, ensured that her colourful geometric circle skirt did the talking.

Michelle Rodriguez: Classic and stunning, Michelle looked every inch the movie star at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS benefit.

Kendall Jenner :When’s the last time you saw Kendall looking bad? Never that’s when. This dress has a touch of haute hippy about it and she was the belle of the ball at the amfAR gala.

Petra Nemcova: The models were definitely winning in the fashion stakes at Cannes this year. Petra teamed this one-shouldered lemon yellow gown with the perfect miniature turquoise clutch.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini: It’s probably a dividing look, but we’re loving Cheryl’s demure look. The soft dusty pink and chic up do really suit her.

Karlie Kloss: We’re in love with Karlie’s embellished Oscar De La Renta gown.

Emily Blunt: Shimmer seemed to be the winning trend of the festival as Emily stole the show at the Sicario screening.

Natalie Portman: Could she be any cuter? This high-waisted two piece she wore to an after party was adorable.

Araya Hargate: A gown with this much drama can be difficult to pull off but Araya looked like a beautiful swan in this embroidered Ashi Studio couture gown with feather hemline.

Charlize Theron: Even Sean Penn’s like “damn gurl” as the couple rock the red carpet for the screening of Mad Max: Fury Road.

Lupita Nyong’o: We love Lupita’s experimental fashion sense. She never takes it too seriously and had a lot of fun whirling this green-pleated gown around on the red carpet for Le Tete Haute.

Naomi Watts: Another sparkly number, Naomi mixed it up with feathers too and looked like an actual princess on Le Tete Haute red carpet.

Misses

Li Yuchun: We can’t even work out what’s going on here. The half white halter-neck jumpsuit, half black jacket/dress thing is quite frankly ridiculous.

Toni Garrn: When print clash goes wrong. This dress belongs as a cover up on the beach, not a posh charity benefit at Cannes. Plus…  boobs or legs Toni, boobs or legs.

Diane Kruger: The German actress can usually do no wrong in the fashion stakes. Which is why this dress she wore to the amfAR benefit was so offensive to our eyes.

Siena Miller: Everyone seemed confused by this kite-themed dress at The Sea of Trees screening.

Urgh. This half of one thing, half of something else “trend” needs to go away immediately.

Carla Ortiz arrives for the screening of the film Dheepan at the 68th international film festival, Cannes, southern France, Thursday, May 21, 2015.

Mallika Sherawat: The dress the Indian actress wore to the screening of MacBeth was kind of mermaidy, with far too much fabric.

Elizabeth Debicki: Pretty fabric but the puffed shoulders belong firmly in the 80s.

Rita Ora: The singer appeared to come dressed as a giant rose.

Lara Stone: It was her first public appearance since splitting with David Walliams, so as it’s a difficult time for her we’ll forgive this unfortunate dress choice.

Jane Fonda: The back feature is truly horrendous. You can see everyone around her looks a mighty confused.

Karlie Kloss: Another one on the best and worst dressed lists. Spaceman-chic should not be a thing. And what’s with the hybrid dress/trouser?
