Fifty Shades of Grey author EL James’s husband will be helping her out with the movie sequel.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Niall Leonard, who has two sons with the British author, will be penning the script for the new film.
Niall is an author and screenwriter whose credits include TV shows Air Force One Is Down and Wire In The Blood.
“Niall is an outstanding writer in his own right, with multiple established credits, and we are lucky to have him join Team Fifty,” producer Michael De Luca told The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the publication, he worked on the script for the first Fifty Shades movie but was not credited.
Last month director Sam Taylor-Johnson announced she had quit the Fifty Shades Of Grey franchise.
The British filmmaker had previously spoken of her arguments with the author of the books about bringing the raunchy novels to the big screen.
“While I will not be returning to direct the sequels, I wish nothing but success to whosoever takes on the exciting challenges of films two and three,” she said in a statement.
Her first film in the trilogy, starring Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey and Dakota Johnson as his lover Anastasia Steele, left many critics underwhelmed but was a box office smash.
