The Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins has left Twitter following death threats.
In recent weeks, Sue has been the subject of much speculation about her replacing Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson.
This morning she announced on Twitter that she was leaving the social media platform.
Fans took to Twitter to post messages of support and encouragement following her announcement.
Clarkson was dropped from the show by the BBC last month after he punched a producer on the show, Oisin Tymon.
Fans on Twitter supporting Perkins included TV presenter Fearne Cotton.
Before quitting the Social Media site, Perkins had replied to some fan tweets.
