Jennifer Lopez has declared it is time for a woman in the White House as Hillary Clinton announced her campaign for US president.
The Hollywood superstar, who juggles box office hits with music chart success, judging duty on American Idol and motherhood, said she is delighted that Hillary has thrown her hat into the ring.
The former secretary of state and first lady announced her candidacy for the Democratic nomination via Twitter.
Speaking on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards, J-Lo said: “I’m very excited to hear this news, I just heard it.”
Asked if she would support her, she said: “It’s time for a woman.”
The 45-year-old said she was also surprised by the recent news that the famous green Versace dress she wore to the Grammys in 2000 was the reason for the invention of Google image search.
“I heard that, this was news this week. Who knew that was the beginning of Google search? I’m a little bit upset I’m not in on that, just a small part of it, or a truck full of money!”
Google executive chairman Eric Schmidt said the plunging, sheer gown was the impetus behind the creation of Google Images when it became the most popular query the search engine had ever seen.
Jennifer had a winning night at the movie awards, picking up the Best Scared-as-S**t Performance gong for her role as a terrorised teacher in the low budget thriller The Boy Next Door.
