Jon Culshaw has revealed that an impression he did of Michael McIntyre was not received very well by the star.
Impressionist Jon took on impersonating the comedian for a TV programme but said that he had heard the reaction had not been very welcoming.
Talking to What’s On TV about poking fun at other celebrities, he said: “Most of the time people are fine, but occasionally there comes a time when you bump into them and there’s an odd stand-off moment.
“Then once they’ve got used to that, it’s quite amusing to put them on the back foot by jabbing them with their own voice. Some find that a bit unnerving.”
Asked if any famous people had ever been angry about the impressions, he revealed: “I heard that Michael McIntyre wasn’t too sure about it when we did him.
“His journey to fame was very fast and when we did the sketches of him on The Impressions Show a few years back he wasn’t best pleased. Maybe it took him by surprise a bit.”
Jon provides his voice talents on new satirical puppet show Newzoids, which begins on ITV on Wednesday April 15.
