Jennifer Lawrence has revealed that her days in the blue X-Men bodysuit are numbered.
The 24-year-old actress said that her starring role in the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse will mark her last appearance as blue-skinned shape-shifting mutant Mystique.
She told MTV that X-Men: Apocalypse “is my last one, actually, yes”.
Bryan Singer will return to direct the third instalment in the latest trilogy, which stars James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender as Professor Charles Xavier and Magneto respectively.
Jennifer’s departure hint from the Marvel franchise follows in the footsteps of co-stars James and Nicholas Hoult, who have both said they only signed on for three movies in the new trilogy – X-Men: First Class, Days Of Future Past and the forthcoming Apocalypse.
Jen is the second actress to play the role, following Rebecca Romijn, who portrayed the character in the original X-Men trilogy.
With talk of a Mystique spin-off film, this could mean a new actress may step into the role.
X-Men: Apocalypse will be released in May 2016.
