Coronation Street’s Eileen Grimshaw is set for romance once again as Mark Moraghan has joined the cast to play her new love interest.
Mark, known for his roles as Greg Shadwick in Brookside, Owen Davies in Holby City and Dream Team’s Ray Wyatt, will play Adrian, a man Eileen (Sue Cleaver) meets when she tries online dating, according to Digital Spy.
The actor first announced his casting last week, but details of his character have just emerged.
He is said to be sticking around in the ITV soap for at least a few months and began filming last week, with his first scenes due to air in April.
But as Eileen’s romantic past has a history of ending in tears, things may not be happy ever after for the new couple.
The cab firm receptionist’s last love hit the cobbles when fireman boyfriend Paul Kershaw (Tony Hirst) was unable to move on from an argument with her pal Lloyd Mullaney (Craig Charles).
Her past relationships have included children’s entertainer Jesse Chadwick (John Thomson) and builder Owen Armstrong (Ian Puleston-Davies).
