She is renowned for her love of rock music, tattoos and edgy fashion but DJ Fearne Cotton says she is now embracing life as a traditional wife following her summer wedding.

The 33-year-old married musician Jesse Wood, son of Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie, just three months ago in a low-key affair near their home in Richmond, west London.

"It's lovely to be a Mrs," she told the Mail on Sunday's You magazine.

"When we go through passport control I've got the same surname as my son. We're a little gang and it feels really special.

"I like the traditional aspect of being part of a couple and being a wife.

"Being married definitely changes something. It's the next level of a relationship.

"I'm not undermining people who don't get married, but for me it felt like a deeper sealed deal."

The couple, who have a one-year-old son, Rex, met in Ibiza in 2011 but she admits being introduced to his world-famous father was "the weird bit".

"I got to see Ronnie the dad, Ronnie the granddad, Ronnie the painter, Ronnie the eccentric, lovely man. Now he's just Jesse's dad."

The "euphoria" she feels at her new family life has not resulted in a slacking of her working schedule though, which remains as busy as ever.

The TV presenter, fashion designer, charity ambassador and panellist on ITV's Celebrity Juice returned to work to host her Radio One show just four days after her nuptials.

"I do have days when I think, 'I can't deal with this. I want to quit work and live by the sea and paint'," she said.

"If I try to look at my diary for the whole month, I have a meltdown so I take it day by day.

"I need a bit more life balance. I never work weekends and I try and keep a couple of afternoons free for mum time."
