EastEnders is serving up more drama now that Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) has returned to Albert Square.

The news is out about Bobby Beale murdering his sister Lucy – and the Walford residents are reeling.

Max Branning (Jake Wood) was wrongly convicted of killing Lucy and had been handed a prison sentence. The Albert Square stalwart had been having a sexual relationship with Lucy, but the blood definitely wasn’t on his hands.

Max disowned Lauren because she knew Bobby was the killer but she did not tell the truth, while sister Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) had called the police on her dad and landed him in it.

So both sisters have reason to feel anxious about how their dad will receive them.

Lauren suggests they write a letter and hand it to Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) so that she, in turn, can give it to Max.

But will Stacey do it? And how will Max react to the letter? The eventual family reunion will not be an easy one for all parties.

EastEnders will broadcast these scenes on June 9 on BBC One.
