Richard Jones – an Army bandsman of the Household Cavalry – has been crowned winner of Britain’s Got Talent.

Dressed in his army uniform, the bookies’ favourite to win performed a classic card trick with a twist when he told the story of World War Two hero Fergus Anckorn and also revealed the 96-year-old was on the stage behind him at the end.

Richard finished ahead of dance troupe Boogie Storm in third place and singer Wayne Woodward, who was second.

And viewers are pretty excited because he’s the first magician ever to win the competition in the 10 years it’s been on our screens (yes, really, it’s been 10 years…)

People reckon it will be a good act to perform for the Queen.

But of course, some people were left feeling disappointed by the result.

It seems like some people just didn’t think his magic was all that exciting.

TBH, it was the medley earlier in the show with acts from the last 10 years of Britian’s Got Talent that seemed to really get everyone excited.

All sorts of performers from over the years, like dancer George Sampson, popped up on the stage, fronted by 2009 winners Diversity.

Yep, it was a right blast from the past. Remember these guys?

Anyway, even if the medley kinda stole the show, congratulations Richard!
