Simon Cowell is said to be pulling out all the stops to sign Adele for the final of The X Factor this year.

Coldplay and One Direction are lined up for the SSE Arena in Wembley when the winner is crowned next month.

A source told the Daily Mirror it would be “a Beyonce-style moment” if they could secure the Oscar-winner.

“Adele would be a huge draw for the show and producers are desperate to snare her. She’s the biggest star in the world at the moment, and they’d love her to team up with one of the girls or Che.”

The source added: “It would be a Beyonce-style moment for the contestant and would make great TV. But that’s down to Adele, it’s her call.”

Asked about singing with the finalists, Adele told Kiss FM’s Breakfast Show she would have performed with Ella Henderson in 2012 if the Glitterball star had made the final and if she hadn’t been pregnant with son Angelo.

“Well it would depend who’s in the final. It depends who’s in it. If they’re rubbish then no, I won’t,” Adele said. “There was Ella Henderson I used to like, but she didn’t make it at the time. I mean I was pregnant, so I wouldn’t have done it, but if she was in it this year and she was in the final I would probably do it with her.”

Coldplay will perform a track from new album A Head Full Of Dreams.

The chart-toppers got a rapturous welcome from the audience when they performed on the show previously, delivering a two-song medley of Paradise and Charlie Brown from album Mylo Xyloto.

X Factor graduates One Direction will give one of their last performances before their hiatus in 2016.

The show source said: “Coldplay are a huge act, and this will be a key performance. There’ve collaborated with Beyonce, Noel Gallagher and even Chris’s ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow appears on the album. Who knows who they could bring as a surprise guest?”

“That topped with an emotional goodbye from the 1D boys as they bid farewell from the stage where they were formed will make for a great show.”

Producers are yet to confirm the stars who will duet with the three finalists.
