Emmerdale star Charley Webb has revealed filming the stunt scenes for a dramatic helicopter crash were much easier for her than Debbie Dingle’s affair.

Debbie is to marry Pete Barton, despite having an affair with his brother Ross, and on her wedding day a helicopter is set to crash through the roof of the village hall, crushing many of the guests, with at least one character meeting their end.

Charley revealed: “I enjoy doing the big stuff and the challenges, but for me doing the emotional stuff is much more difficult than stunts. Because stunts are everyone else around you – they’ve got all the pressure. It’s all about the crew and all the different teams that do the stunts.

“But for us when it’s about doing the emotional stuff and all the dialogue and making sure the story is right and you do it justice, that’s when you’ve got the pressure.

“So for me, apart from the build up, I was on the floor after that so I had quite an easy time.”

Meanwhile, co-star Lucy Pargeter, who plays Debbie’s aunt Chastity Dingle, told The Sun she was picking bits of rubble out of her costume for hours after shooting the scenes.

She said: “At lunch we were all still picking bits of rubble out of our ears and noses. Going to the toilet you find where other bits have worked their way too!”
