Eleanor Tomlinson, Grayson Perry, Jaime Winstone and Jerry Hall are just some of the star-studded crowd who made sure they looked super stylish at the Summer Exhibition preview party.
Actress Jaime Winstone, son of actor Ray, opted for dazzling summer colours in a striking A-line dress decorated with striking Kingfishers. (We want it!)
Tomlinson, who plays Demelza Poldark in hit BBC TV drama Poldark, wore a figure-hugging little black dress as she arrived at the Royal Academy of Arts for the event on Wednesday evening.
Artist Grayson Perry looked like a work of art himself as he rocked a bright netted shawl over a pop art-style tee and orange tights – reflecting the bright colours of this summer’s art show. But then again, he’s allowed to, firstly because he’s Grayson and secondly because his work is on show.
Also attending the preview show in central London was former model and actress Jerry Hall, who wore a lacy LBD.
Actor, screenwriter and director Richard E. Grant was also on the guest list.
And he was joined on the ribboned ‘red carpet’ by singer Jessie Ware, TV presenter and actress Donna Air (who’s also dating Kate Middleton’s brother James), model Amber Le Bon and her showbiz parents Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon and model Yasmin Le Bon, as well as actor Sir John Hurt.
Fashion designers Vivienne Westwood and Alice Temperley, Turner Prize winning artist Tracey Emin, model Daisy Lowe, actor Douglas Booth, actress Alice Eve and even home secretary Theresa May were also in attendance.
Here’s a sneak-peek at what they will be seeing.
Among the Summer Exhibition 2015′s installations is a multi-coloured staircase by Turner Prize nominee Jim Lambie.
The work, entitled Zobop, is made from hundreds of pieces of coloured vinyl tape and took seven people nearly 500 hours to complete.
The exhibition, which has been held annually since 1769, is the world’s largest open-submission contemporary art show and features 1,100 works.
Other highlights include works by the likes of Grayson Perry, Sir Antony Gormley and Anish Kapoor.
The Summer Exhibition 2015 runs at the Royal Academy of Arts from next Monday until August 16.
