It was live semi-final time on Britain’s Got Talent as we witnessed nine acts giving it their all for that all important place in the final.

After watching their performances we had to wait an agonising half an hour while the public voted for their favourite act but, a cup of tea and a quick loo break later, Ant and Dec were back on our screens to announce the two performers who’d made it to the next stage.

Jules O’Dwyer and her dog Matisse racked up the most of the 1.5 million votes of the night and were announced the first act joining Welsh choir group Cor Glanaethwy and dance group Entity Allstars in the final.

That left Old Men Grooving Revelation Avenue to face the judges’ votes, with Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden giving their firm vote to 12-piece choir, while David Walliams backed Old Men Grooving.

The acts’ fate all lay with Simon Cowell and wanting to be very diplomatic about the situation (though it must’ve been pretty hard to ignore the “OMG!” chants from the audience) he gave his vote to Old Men Grooving, putting both acts at a tie.

And so it all relied on the public’s vote… and it was a victory to dancing dads across the nation.

Though, who knows – we may just see the return of Revelation Avenue as this year’s wildcard…
