Emma Bunton has revealed why she hasn’t wed her fiance – five years after he proposed.
Damage star Jade Jones proposed to the former Spice Girl in 2010, when she was expecting Tate, now four, the youngest of their two sons.
Emma, 39, told the new issue of Essentials magazine: “We’re always like ‘Oh, we should do that one day, shouldn’t we?’ and then we’re like ‘Yeah, when?’…’I dunno’. And then we forget about it.
“Jade and I got engaged on my birthday in 2010 when I was pregnant with Tate. We had some friends over for dinner when he asked me and it was such a lovely moment.
The Heart FM radio host added: “We’re both Aquarians and terrible at organising things, so I was gobsmacked he’d even managed to organise that, never mind either of us planning an actual wedding.”
Emma recently spent a weekend with her former Spice Girls, apart from Mel B, at David Beckham’s 40th birthday in Marrakech. She said: “I spend the most time with Mel C as she lives nearby, Geri and I met for tea the other week, and whenever Mel B’s in town, we’ll catch up.
“We’ve all got our own lives and families now, so obviously we don’t see each other all the time, but there’s a very special connection between us that no one else has because of all the experiences we’ve shared together – it’s hard to explain.”
The star, also mum to seven-year-old Beau, said of being a mum: “I’m lucky that I work in the mornings, so generally I’m home in time to pick up Tate from nursery, then go to get Beau from school.
“As soon as they appear, I literally grab them and squeeze them and kiss them. Beau’s only seven and he’s already like, ‘Eurgh Mum, get off!’ But I can’t help myself. I know it’s probably going to have to stop soon, so I’m making the most of it while I can.”
