Former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding has revealed she would rather be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent than The X Factor.

The soon-to-be-Coronation Street star said she would love to join the judging panel of BGT.

Harding, who was speaking while judging the O2 Refresh campaign to find Britain’s “happiest cat”, said: “I would love to do something like that.

“I think Britain’s Got Talent more than something like The X Factor, even though I’m a singer, because they all look like they have such a laugh and there’s variety as well which is great.

“I love it and I’m hooked on it this year. I just love that dog that keeps hypnotising Simon Cowell.”

Harding, who will be making her debut in Corrie in the next few weeks, spoke about the reaction to her Corrie news and joining the show.

She said: “No-one believed it – I was like, cheers guys.

“I was over the moon because I’ve been a fan of the show for years because my mum got me into it because I lived in Manchester for a long time.

“I grew up down South, but I lived in Manchester for a while because my mum’s family are from there so yeah, I’ve just been a fan for years and to actually get to tread on those cobbles and actually be part of that and get involved is just incredible.”

Even though she hasn’t started filming yet, she did say she’s had her first walk around on set.

“I’ve had my little walk around, and meet and greets and it’s been really cool and I love it there.

“The first time I went was last year for the Meal Appeal for Good Morning Britain so that’s when it all came about, because I got chatting and they were like ‘You act, don’t you?’ and I said yeah, and they could see that I was a real fan because I kept saying ‘Oh my god, oh my god look!’ and wanting pictures everywhere like outside the Rovers and they said they might have something for me.

“I just hope I can do everyone proud because the pressure is on now. I’m nervous now, I’m excited but I’m also getting butterflies thinking about it but I’m looking forward to it.”

The winning cat will be revealed on May 21, alongside its advertising debut. It will become the new face of O2′s tariff O2 Refresh.
