Brian Cox, Stephen Hawking, Josh Berger and Kip Thorne were there for the special screening, which also featured a live score performed by Hans Zimmer and a 60-piece orchestra.

Renowned physicist Hawking, who’s had a fair share of red carpet glamour following the success of The Theory of Everything – a movie based on his life, donned a smart black suit for the screening of the film that shows team of explorers travelling through a wormhole in an attempt to save humanity.

Sir Michael Caine also braved the chilly weather as he arrived at the venue with his wife Shakira.

Producer Emma Thomas and husband Christopher Nolan, who wrote and directed the sci-fi film, joined the stars on the red carpet too.
