The Wolf Of Wall Street was the most pirated film of 2014, just ahead of Disney smash hit Frozen.

Martin Scorsese’s Oscar-nominated comedy drama, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, was illegally downloaded 30.035 million times, while musical animation Frozen was downloaded 29.919 million times worldwide, according to figures from piracy-tracking firm Excipio.

Robocop was the third most pirated movie by users of torrent globally in the last year, but Excipio admitted they could not tell how many of the 29.879 downloads were of the 2014 MGM remake of the sci-fi action film and how many were of the original 1987 movie.

Alfonso Cuaron’s award-winning space epic Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock, came fourth, after being downloaded by 29.4 million pirate users, and The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug rounded off the top five with 27.627 million illegal downloads.

Thor: The Dark World was at number six, just ahead of fellow Marvel movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Also in the top 10 was The Legend Of Hercules starring Kellan Lutz, X-Men: Days Of Future Past and 12 Years A Slave.
