SIXTY musicians are to get together for a Sunday spectacular which guarantees to raise the roof.
Morecambe's Orbit Jazz will team up with Lancaster's Off the Rails jazz band and students from Beaumont College at the Big Band Summit at the Gregson Centre, Lancaster, this Sunday.
More Music in Morecambe has invited four more bands - including Ulvertson's Blast Furness and BigJam from Penrith - to the event which starts at 1pm.
Each band will play a 30-minute set as well as getting together for joint pieces with up to 60 performers.
Orbit Jazz, now with two kit drummers, will be playing tunes worked up on their weekly sessions at More Music while Off the Rails and Beaumont Students have composed a special piece.
Blast Furness are Ulverston's answer to the dirty dozen brass band, playing a range of music from salsa to english folk tunes, and BigJam is a massive group led by Jilly Jarman and Rob Steel.
All performers will bow out with a massive finale with the sounds of Sun Ra's Celestial Road'.
