It's a long time since I last saw or read Shakespeare's early comedy The Taming of the Shrew, and I'd forgotten just how rich the language is, how visually funny it is, and how utterly filthy it is in places. So I was delighted that Dean Taylor's excellent production, at its first outing in Preston last Thursday, vividly revived all my latent memories of the play.
