The black grape which was cultivated in the Languedoc region in the 1880s and then died out in France is now only found in Australia where it is quite robust and earthy.
The Nugan family, who came originally from Spain, have turned it into an Aussie award-winner.
It's a great beast of a red (15%), rich, warm with loads of plum and licorice.
