Talking Sport...
SO that's that then...another football season has drawn to a close - apart from play-offs, Premiership and Scotland.
And you could argue that most genuine football fans don't give a monkey's dangling bits about the latter two.
The season really has flown by and it seems like two minutes since Morecambe made their League Two bow.
The Shrimps have enjoyed a memorable debut in the Football League and a top-half finish is no mean achievement given the size of Sammy McIlroy's squad.
And let's face it, as good a club as the Shrimps are, Morecambe will never be Barcelona so the effort in finishing 11th should be applauded.
McIlroy hasn't had a whopping great budget to play with but he has crafted a squad capable of cutting the mustard in the cut and thrust of the League.
Of course it will be tough next season but Sammy has enough about him as a manager to steer his men onwards and upwards.
Believe me, next season will be exciting. It would be nice to have a repeat of the Carling Cup run and the race towards the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.
But runs like that do not happen every year and fans need to remember that. The bread and butter is the League and the Shrimps will be focused on that from their return in a few weeks time.
Credit must also go to champions MK Dons, who were the best side throughout the season.
Okay, they have a big wage bill - as do runners-up Peterborough - but there is something about the Dons that makes you wish for a tad of success for them.
Their stadium is truly jaw dropping and their staff and fans are a seriously friendly and nice bunch - bar one person.
Paul Ince may have a great future as a manager to follow on from his great career as a player. He has got everything going for him in terms of football and decent money from his time at the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and West Ham.
But after my brief meeting with the self-proclaimed Guv'nor on Saturday night I found out one thing - Money can by you much but it can't gift you class or grace.
