Night club backs teeny disco plan

A NIGHT CLUB boss has raced to the rescue of a Lancaster teenager trying to raise money for her dad running in this year's London Marathon.

Fourteen year old Chloe Crone, daughter of Granada Television presenter Paul Crone, wanted to hold a fund raising event in aid of his run on Sunday, April 13.

When Cuba boss Mark Mace was approached to stage a disco in aid of the North West children's charity, When You Wish Upon A Star, he readily agreed to host the event for the Ripley St Thomas pupil.

Croney has already raised over £500,000 with his various TV charity appeals and is aiming for £10,000 when he runs his third London Marathon.

Daughter Chloe wants to add around £250 to the pot with the event at Cuba next Friday, April 4, by selling as many tickets as possible to friends and schoolmates.

Cuba Director Mark Mace says: "When we heard that Chloe and her friends were in need of a venue to raise funds for such a good cause, we could not wait to assist.

"We have always enjoyed previous events involving the pupils from Ripley St Thomas and the team at Cuba will be doing everything they can to ensure this is a successful fund-raiser."

For more details of the event, call Cuba on 01524-63617.
