Duo net new charity idea
TWO teenagers from Morecambe are using their computer skills in a bid to raise cash for local charities.
Ben Callis, 17, who attends Morecambe High School sixth form, launched two websites last month under the business name FindMeMedia' with his friend, Joe Shanley, who designs and codes the websites.
CoffeeClicking.com - which has been branded as a place for people to relax, drink coffee and earn' - pays users to view adverts and emails.
What makes it unique is that it is the first in the UK to combine the concept of paid to read e-mails and cash back shopping.
And its partner website, MakeFree Cash.net, offers users reviews on various moneymaking websites.
Ben, who has been running websites since he was 12, says he came up with the idea several months ago. The team now have more than 150 advertisers.
Their next move is to involve local charities through the website's cashback scheme, in which shoppers receive a small payout with each purchase they make from an affiliated website.
"We'll give users the option of paying some or all of their earnings to charity at the end of each month and we might be able to pay the charities an extra 10 per cent on top of that. We're currently looking into the system of how to do it and which charities to involve."
