Sarah cleans up
A HEYSHAM woman has been crowned as the area's business woman of the year.
Sarah Davey, director of Completely Clean, has won praise for her leadership, professionalism and contribution to the local economy by scooping the accolade at the Be Inspired Business Awards' (BIBA) 2008.
Six years after Sarah set up thefirm, which now employs 60 workers in the area, it has won industrial and domestic cleaning contracts with companies such as South Lakeland Parks and The Midland Hotel, Morecambe.
The Lister Grove woman, pictured , says she was shocked when she found out she had won the title at a ceremony in Blackpool attended by 700 of the county's top business people.
"The other nominees were so good and all worthy of the award that I did not think I had a chance," she told the Citizen.
But even now she is looking to employ more local people to create a team to work at the prestigious Midland Hotel to help get it ready in time for its June opening.
And she says future plans are to expand Completely Clean regionally, recruiting both local people and local suppliers.
