LANCASTER people are to be asked how they would set about solving the problem of anti-social behaviour.
A series of public meetings is planned so that local people can share their experiences of bad behaviour - and their ideas on how it can be cured.
Asking the questions will be a new Lancaster City Council task group' set up to gather evidence and report back on how it can improve the approach towards combating anti-social behaviour.
The first of four public meetings to discuss the issues will be held at 6pm this Thursday evening at Lancaster Town Hall.
And it will be followed by further meetings in Morecambe, Carnforth and one of the district's rural villages on dates and at times still to be finalised.
Cllr Joyce Pritchard, who has been appointed chairman of the task group, says: "Anti-social behaviour is one of the biggest issues faced by our district and of course the city council cannot prevent it.
"However, this group has been established to gather evidence on problems faced by the public and to hear any ideas they may have to help the council play its part in reducing anti-social behaviour."
Following the public meetings, the task group will produce a report to be considered by council cabinet.
