NEW principal matron for the Burnley Group of Hospitals in 1966 was Miss Theresa Hothersall.
And her aim was to provide a first class hospital service in the area, which was achieveable, she stated, if staff gave her ‘splendid’ co-operation.
She had previously been matron at Burnley Victoria for seven years, as well as Blackburn Royal Infirmary and was welcomed to her new domain by the hospital management committee, led by chairman Dr D Lamont and staff, pictured.
